The Road to Komyo Reiki Retreat: Joraku-An
Joraku-An is the guesthouse in Dai Bosatsu Zendo, where Komyo Reiki Retreat will be taking place, this summer, August 24-26, 2012. It was originally built in 1867, by James Beecher, a Protestant minister and brother of abolitionist writer Harriet Beecher Stowe. Joraku-an faces Beecher Lake and a statue of Buddha across the lake. It is always the accomodation for wellness retreat groups. It provides privacy to retreat groups, who have classes and work shops, who have their own schedule.
Retreat participants will have assigned rooms in Joraku-An. Those request for private rooms will be assigned in monastery. The activities of Komyo Reiki Retreat will be in both Joraku-An and in monastery.
